Obligatory URA Slander

2 min read

Yesterday, October 4th, 2026, the United Realmplex Alliance voted to disolve itself. They have cited that the organization no longer has a purpose in the current geopolitical landscape and... well, I feel as though there's a lack of honesty in that statement. The URA hasn't had a place in the server in years. By their own implication, their primary goal was to counter the USA. It's a miracle that such a short-sighted objective managed to carry them for as long as it did, but we shouldn't overlook the fact that it was this same hyper-vigilance to the USA that directly involved them in the third great realmplex war. Of course, we all know how that ended.

I digress, however. The point of this opinion piece isn't just to gloat about a victory from two years ago. I feel the need to highlight the misguided-ness of the alliance now that hindsight has made everything crystal clear. The best way that I could potentially describe the URA as a whole is false bravado. Since its formation, the URA manage to fail at essentially all of its goals, because people realized incredibly quickly that their power was built on a bluff. "You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us! Fuck with us and we'll spank ur fucking ass" is a great way to deter people with no motivation or intention of actually fighting you, but when it comes to people who WANT that smoke, it gets a bit hard to use strength to deter them. Strength, at a certain point, invites challenge, and when challenge came knocking, the URA folded every time it mattered most.

Beyond that, they were internally weak as well. Out of the countries in the alliance, several of their leaders simply don't or can't play enough to have meaningful presences. I would posit that motivations were likely incredibly different as well. My greatest evidence for this point is that Taylor, upon recieving confirmation that there was a coup attempt being staged in SSI, was entirely fine with such a thing happening as long as it didn't effect or involve other URA countries. I can't think of a more impressive way to throw someone under the bus! Furthermore, in the ensuing SSI-Wheat conflict, One of Tamati's first actions as the Potato King was to not involve the Potato Empire despite their allyship with SSI. Of course, this also follows Rory expressing his own desire to avoid conflict, as well as leaving the URA. Though it cannot be confirmed, It wouldn't surprise me if Marshall's attitudes held a significant role in giving the URA the push it needed, as he seemed to be the only one interested in offensive action.

ok, back to hibernation.
